4 Paws Vet Clinic

Wichita Vet

Got a question about the care of your dog, cat or other pet? Our Wichita Vet Care website can help – thanks to the folks at 4 Paws Vet Clinic!

The founder of 4 Paws Vet Clinic is Dr. Dean Loesch. He is a long-time resident of Kansas with over 39 years experience in veterinary medicine. Dr. Loesch has joined with Journal Broadcasting Wichita Operations to help answer your vet care questions. Simply enter your contact information and question in the question box and Dr. Loesch will be happy to give you the advice and guidance you need to provide the best care possible for your pet.

Dr. Loesch has helped many Wichita and area families with their pet needs. For several years he operated his own veterinarian practice in Wichita. Throughout his career, he has seen the best and worst of pet care. Every year, Dr. Loesch sees dogs and cats abandoned, unwanted, unadopted, and eventually euthanized. After his very successful career and a brief retirement, Dr. Loesch wants to give back to the Wichita community with his valued experience and talent.

What Does a Pet Vaccine Cost?

Dr. Loesch provides very low cost annual exams and basic vaccinations. For only $30.00, 4 Paws Vet Clinic will conduct a basic exam of your pet and administer the annual vaccines your pet needs and deserves. Too often, Dr. Loesch has seen pets receive more extensive (and expensive) care than necessary - simply because the pets were behind on their annual shots. These exams and vaccinations are offered with NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.

In April 2009, Dr. Loesch opened 4 Paws Veterinary Clinics at two locations in Wichita. Although Dr, Loesch is now semi-retired, he offers low cost spay and neuter services two days a week to help reduce the number of euthanized dogs and cats in Sedgwick County.

How Much Does Spay and Neutering Cost?

The cost for spay and neuter services varies based on the animal. Residents are encouraged to call Dr. Loesch at 650-0604 to discuss your pet and to make an appointment. The Doctor feels strongly that no animal should go unwanted and unloved. As a result, he has come out of retirement to provide some of the lowest cost services in the Wichita area to prevent the needless euthanization of our pet population.

What You Can Do:

  • Have an animal altered. If your pets are already spayed or neutered, you can still help by providing sponsorship for a friend's pet, a relative's pet, or a shelter animal.
  • Spread the word! Remind others that spaying and neutering benefits animals, our community, and gives pet owners peace of mind.

Pet Statistics:

  • An estimated 52 million dogs and 57 million cats live with U.S. families.

  • In 2008 over 14,000 animals were euthanized in Sedgwick County.
  • As many as 25% of dogs entering shelters each year are purebreds.
  • Approximately 61% of all dogs entering shelters are destroyed.
  • Approximately 75% of all cats entering shelters are destroyed.
